What is I AM?
I AM – International Assistive Technology Meeting is a one-day international forum bringing together experts, clinicians, and innovators who place personal identity, autonomy, and quality of life at the center of technological solutions.
The event explores the role of assistive technologies in supporting communication, social participation, and each person’s ability to independently manage interests, relationships, and daily activities. The solutions presented go beyond merely compensating for disability, fostering instead pathways for self-expression and inclusion.
Alongside augmentative and alternative communication, I AM also addressed topics such as advanced mobility, accessible gaming, and leisure technologies, demonstrating how innovation can support independence and expand opportunities for participation.
Part of the meeting was dedicated to Health Economic Studies, with the presentation of international research on the impact of assistive technologies within healthcare systems, analyzing the clinical, social, and economic benefits associated with promoting autonomy.
I AM is a space for dialogue between research, clinical practice, and industry, where international best practices become concrete tools for developing solutions that are truly person-centered.
